Though the practice of fasting has been around since ancient times, it has been forgotten in modern days driven by food and pharmaceutical industries.
Fasting always was and always will be the #1 most powerful natural healing solution, as it revitalizes and rejuvenates the body.
If you own pets you have probably noticed that they do not eat when they are ill or stressed. Their natural instinct tells them to fast as it helps them heal by removing damaged cells, bad bacteria, toxins, and metabolic waste. And us, humans, are the only mammals on this planet that eat when we are sick...
Our Hunter-gathering ancestors ate once a day; our more recent ancestors ate 3 meals a day. We eat at least 5-6 times a day (some people up to 20) including snacking without ever giving ourselves a break.
Not only is the quality of food that we consume different from what our ancestors ate, but so is the volume of food and the frequency of eating. This can't be beneficial to our health and explains the significant raise in serious illnesses we have witnessed over the past few decades.
